The location and scenery was fantastic, but it was quite noisy from the waves continuous noise. There was no double glazed windows or doors and I had no Aircon so we had to have the doors open at night. The ceiling fans that work real well.

We stayed down the southern end & adored it. The towns down here still retain some of the old charm of decades ago. The beaches are clean & less crowded. It's just a little more relaxed here.

Broadbeach 8s the pick when staying at the Gold Coast. All the other areas were run down, unkempt especially the heart of Surfers Cavill. We went for a drive and Southport was really needing some tidying up as well

Amazing beaches, great shopping, so many places to stay, visit and eat. Q1 is a must visit as the tallest building in Australia with unbeatable views on a sunny day. Feeding the Rainbow Lorikeets at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a magnificently messy, noisy and wild experience. Cover your forearms and head so their claws don't dig in too deep as you have a dozen of them clambering all over your hands, arms and head clamouring to drink the sweetened juice in the plate you are holding. Fabulous.

So much to see and do right on the door step. I deliberately flew up to the Gold Coast to see P!nk as I wanted the more intimate experience at Heritage Stadium and it was great. Easy to get around the city on the light rail and so many cafe's and restaurants, not to mention gelato stores! Everywhere seems to offer 'happy hour' not only for drinks but some places had a happy hour breakfast which is great. Overall, food seemed cheaper than in Melbourne. I just love the relaxed atmosphere that the city seems to have - although I wasn't there in school holidays or schoolies week as that would be a different story!
