Great selection of restaurants, cafes & bars within easy walking distance, particularly enjoyed Mavericks for the food, location overlooking the Marina and friendly staff. Large Woolworths to get all of your food for self-catering. Great local bus service to see the wider area plus ferry to Tea gardens and Dolphin cruises - what is not to like! The staff at the Tourist Information office were very helpful.

Nelson Bay is one of my favourite spots in the Australian coast so far, it is relaxing with beautiful beaches like One Mile Beach and Birubi Beach. There is good night life if you go to Shoal Bay and also good restaurants.

I visit Nelson Bay regularly for the last 26 years. It has become a very advanced tourist destination where people can find different options for entertainment and relaxation. The Port Stephens area in general, is beautiful and has many attractions, like dolphin and whale watching, game fishing or just recreational fishing from many good spots, sporting and adventure facilities and variety of accommodation for every budget. This time, I was more impressed by how green the area was, due to recent frequent rainfall.

Nelson Bay is a truly beautiful spot. Some views must be among the most beautiful in the world. It is great for swimming, snorkelling, kayaking .... walking, cycling .... There are dolphin and whale watching tours and many other activities. There are many restaurants and cafes to choose from, some right on the water's edge.

its a shit hole, The room assigned to me was not clean. The bathrooms were just mould traps, the shower rose had f king mould coming out of them! If you are ever booked into apartment 22 in block A, ask for another room! in the photographs 2 shower roses 1 from the ensuite the other from the second bathroom. Unfortunately, can only upload 10 photographs. If you want a good dinner for a good price the Game Fishermans Club absolute worth it

Nice beaches, throughout the area. Mostly in Port Stephens harbour, so no surf. From hotel, easy walking distance to Nelson Bay shops, restaurants and pub. As well there is a restaurant in the hotel, itself. Lovely places for photography, if that's your thing.
