On beautiful days it’s great for swimming and icecream. Lots of walking for those interested in that too. Often no need for a car but I used my escooter to get about the best, lots of people on bikes too. The Bay restaurant was a lovely atmosphere and seating.

Lovely scenic location. Could have stayed another day/night here. Lots of local bush walks, etc. Initially was concerned with meal/dining options - but discovered a few lovely spots, thanks to our host.

Gateway to the Freycinet. Coles Bay is a great base for exploring the national Park. Richardson’s Beach is one of Australia’s hidden treasures. Local cafes are excellent, and it’s a short drive to local wineries and Bicheno’s irresistible Lobster Shack.

Location, food and people - we could have stayed longer and explored more - the oysters and wine tasting at Devil's Corner were incredible. The restaurant in the lodge was fabulous for drinks and for food - staff were fantastic, friendly and professional.

Coles Bay is the perfect place to stay to explore the Freycinet National Park. There are walks for most abilities, but it helps to have some fitness as there is a lot of steps and climbing. Wineglass Bay and Wineglass Beach are an absolute highlight. Coles Bay is a sleepy town in May so we were able to enjoy it without hustle & bustle of summer crowds.
