The peaceful Bald Rock Bush Retreat is situated on 650 acres (255 hectares) next to Bald Rock National Park, which features Australia´s largest monolith after Uluru. Fitting unexpectedly into the landscape, the focal point of the retreat is an authentically built Spanish/Mexican Hacienda, which reflects the owner´s fascination with the architecture of southern Spain, where he lived as a young man. The complex is surrounded by gardens of beautiful cacti and the retreat is self sufficient featuring wind and solar generated power, filtered rainwater and organically grown vegetables. Guests can stay within the Hacienda complex or in a range of other imaginative buildings from a rustic Bunk House to a simple Bush Hut on waters edge, or in a luxurious Lake Cabin built over the water of a lake, where one can fish from the veranda.
