Description
A delightful little village with historic character, Jamberoo is surrounded by emerald green pastures and set against the forested cliffs of the escarpment. Minnamurra Rainforest and Barren Grounds Bird Observatory and Nature Reserve - two of the State's natural treasures - are nearby, while Budderoo National Park lies to the west. Jamberoo was established in 1820 to harvest the rich cedar forests that built much of colonial Sydney. By the 1830s it was a thriving village at the centre of a rich dairy area. There is live music at the Jamberoo Pub on Sunday afternoon and the town hosts a monthly arts and crafts fair with live entertainment. Jamberoo Action Park is great fun for the whole family. The town is also within easy reach of the surf beaches around Kiama....
