Description (english): Just a few kilometres away from Florence and the etruscan town of Fiesole in the beautiful Florence hills along the old faentina road on the way to the Mugello just out the small village of Polcanto
Originally the house was built in the first years'60 on the remains of the medieval tower of Porcigliano, it came acquired from our family in 1999 and completely restored according to the rules of the Bio-building.
Our Bed and Breakfast offers lodging in the comfort of a private home and where you will find a friendly atmosphere and a warm hospitality to give you a feeling of being home. The large family kitchen has the typical Tuscany style with its cosy fireplace, in the country garden sweet smells of lavender, rose, rosemary, and many lovely corners for relaxing.
On the first floor a welcoming, sunny living room with terrace over the garden, and for our Guests three spacious, cosy double rooms with bath, heating and a superb view over the valley
Each room has its own style and furnished with old family’s furniture.
There is also a kitchen garden with organic production of seasonal vegetables that characterize our simple and genuine cooking. Most of the products we serve for breakfast come from local organic farming as well.
Porcigliano is an ideal starting point to visit Florence, Siena, San Gimignano and discover the fascinating surrounding towns and villages of Mugello valley.
Descrizione (italiano): A pochi chilometri da Firenze seguendo l’antica via Faentina verso il Mugello, appena fuori l’abitato di Polcanto in posizione panoramica con una suggestiva vista sulla valle verso gli Appennini.
La casa, costruita nei primi anni ’60 sulle rovine dell’ antica torre di "Porcigliano” di origini alto medievali, è stata completamente ristrutturata nel 2002 con interventi di Bio-edilizia .
Al piano terreno una grande cucina in perfetto stile toscano e al piano superiore un accogliente soggiorno con terrazza sul giardino e le stanze per gli ospiti.
Le camere sono ampie, luminose, con bagno e una bella vista sulle colline, arredate con vecchi mobili di famiglia e curate nei particolari.
La colazione, servita in giardino al durante la bella stagione, è abbondante e i prodotti prevalentemente locali e provenienti da agricoltura biologica.
C'è anche un orto a produzione biologica con alcune varietà di ortaggi di stagione. L'ambiente è familiare e sarete accolti come amici.
Oltre ad essere un piccolo paradiso verde Porcigliano è un’ ottima base di partenza per itinerari naturalistici, per visitare città d’arte come Firenze o Siena e per scoprire il Mugello, terra ricca di bellezze naturali e di testimonianze storiche affascinanti.
